User Journey

Read through the process below to understand how it works and what you need to do

Test

Ensure you are selecting the correct test/s. Our Arrival Tests and Departure Tests pages link to the latest national/international requirements. It is the responsibility of customers to ensure they are in compliance with testing rules by selecting the correct test/s

Add to
Cart

Once you know what test/s you require, select them individually or as a package, and the volume you wish to purchase, and add them to your cart. All our tests are found here

Checkout

Provide your delivery address and contact information. You will be asked your vaccination status. If ordering a Day 2 Test, you will need to provide your arrival date. You may order multiple tests but all Day 2 tests in a single purchase must be for the same journey (arrival date, country status)

Pay

Crown Labs accept a wide variety of payment methods. Once payment has been made for Day 2 tests, you will be sent your Booking Reference Number for your Passenger Locator Form (ABCDE1234567). To mitigate fraudulent purchases, refunds are entirely at the discretion of Crown Labs

Wait For
Test

Our fulfilment centre will send your purchased test/s to your provided address via Royal Mail Track 24. The packages are suitable for standard letterboxes so can be ordered when abroad and will be at your home when you return. Delivery updates will come via SMS. Up to three tests can be sent in a single package

Take
Sample

Take sample as per the Test Instructions. If you have ordered multiple test kits, it should be noted that regardless of what the test is used for (Fit to Fly, Day 2 etc), all test kits have identical contents

Register
Result

Register your result here. You will be asked to provide the additional information required by government. See below on this page for the details required for each test

Receive
Certificate

Uploaded results are checked regularly and result certificates emailed. As a minimum Crown check uploads at 10:00 and 17:30 each day. Your result will be Negative, Positive, or Unclear. In the rare event of an Unclear result a new kit will automatically be sent. If you’ve not received a result, please check your spam folder before contacting customer services

Postal Times

Weekdays:

Our packs are sent by Royal Mail Track 24. The daily cut off is 16:00 UK time. All tests purchased before then will arrive the next day. All tests purchased after then will be sent the next day and will arrive two days after purchase

Weekends: 

There is no Saturday or Sunday post. All tests purchased after 16:00 on Friday and before 16:00 on Monday, will be posted on Monday evening and arrive on the Tuesday

Ordering Multiple Kits

Crown allows multiple tests to be purchased in one order. 

NOTE: When ordering multiple Day 2 tests, they must all be for the same Arrival Date and Country Status (Green, Amber, Red). So a family returning to the UK on the same flight together can order all their Day 2 tests in a single purchase. If people are arriving on different dates or/and from different countries, the Day 2 tests must be ordered in separate purchases.

Up to four test kits can be sent in a single package. If you order more than three, you should expect multiple deliveries. See below table.

Common Errors

Ordering the Wrong Tests: You must know what tests you required. Especially when they are a legal requirement. It is your responsibility to ensure this. Links on the Arrival Tests and Departure Tests pages will assist you

Not Recognising Delivery Times: In the section above it is made clear when packs are sent out and on what times and days they should be ordered. Plan ahead and always be aware of the weekend posting restrictions

Spilling Buffer Fluid: Buffer tubes come with a small amount of liquid which the tip of the swab rests in. Ensure when opening the tube and placing the swab inside that none is spilt. Do not touch or ingest the liquid. Loss of liquid might result in a failed test. this is non-refundable

Contaminating the Swab: From the time the swab is taken from the packet, to when it is sealed in the sample tube, it must only come into contact with the areas of throat and nose where material is taken from. It should not touch any other surface

Incorrect or Insufficient Information Provided: We cannot correct errors once a test has been processed and a result issued. Check and double check all information you provide and make sure you provide ALL that is requested 

Unique Reference Number not Retained: Each test kit comes with 1 URN (barcode) sticker on the box and another loose. The loose sticker goes on the Test Instruction Sheet. This must be retained should you need to query a result or a service issue

Not Checking Junk/Spam: Sometimes a client’s email service will send a confirmation email or a results email to Spam or Junk. Always check this before contacting customer service
